550 MILLION EGGS RECALLED: Are the eggs at your local supermarket safe?

This could be the largest U.S. salmonella outbreak of the decade, with approximately 2 million sickened.  Read more here. Wright County Egg, the farm that recalled the original 380 million eggs, has reportedly been cited for numerous health and safety violations over the years.  Maybe the loss of income they'll suffer from this large recall is what they need!

Not all recalls are due to the negligence of the company though!  If you own a business, especially a manufacturing business, you should be aware that coverage under the General Liability policy absolutely EXCLUDES any loss, cost or expense resulting from the withdrawal of a product.

Product recall coverage is available, but isn't automatically included in your General Liability.
