You have heard about the self-driving vehicles being in the works at least once. This new technology is both intriguing and concerning at the same time.

How cool would it be to not have to worry about paying attention to the road and having your own robotic chauffeur? However, could you put your full trust into a technologic machine to get you to and fro safely?

Other companies like Uber are heavily considering this idea as customers could just call and an empty car would arrive at his house to take him to his desired location. Investing in this autonomous vehicle would greatly decrease auto accidents (human error is responsible for 90%of car accidents), this would be a greatly beneficial help to the disabled, and it’s nice knowing that you can check your phone or read a book while driving to work.

The real questions are who would we liable for when they do get in accidents? How will this affect the auto insurance industry? And some states such as California still require licensed drivers to be at the wheel, so will they void those laws?

Technological advances are inevitable when it comes to cars. It’s the 21st century for goodness sake! It will be interesting to see if the pros will outweigh the cons or vice versa.
