Deborah has been active in the insurance industry since 2005. Her entire career has been in the commercial insurance space. She joined Gillman in 2006 and has been an instrumental asset to our problem solving team. She has furthered her insurance expertise by earning her Commercial Lines Coverage Specialist and Transportation Risk and Insurance Professional (TRIP®) certifications.
By earning her TRIP certification, she joined the prestigious group of insurance professionals who have gone beyond being a “generalist” to focus on the specific needs of the transportation industry.
The TRIP certification is a professional education program administered by IRMI. This highly specialized curriculum consists of five relevant risk management courses focused on exposures faced by the transportation industry and how best to insure them.
Core courses include the following.
- Essentials of Regulations, Statutes, and Motor Carrier Liability Coverage
- Hauling the Freight: Cargo Risks and Insurance
- Liability Insurance for the Transportation Industry
- Workers Compensation for the Transportation Industry
- Understanding the Transportation Industry and Its Risks
Additionally, TRIP certification holders must renew their credentials annually by completing additional transportation risk and insurance courses. This dedication to continuing education ensures TRIP designees stay up to date on emerging risks and relevant developments.
Deborah is a Georgia native and lives in Cumming with her husband, a 24 year veteran firefighter, and her son.
